Welcome to Division 1! As Old Wesley steps up into AIL Division 1, the increased demand for home games means we are updating our matchday access policies to keep things running smoothly, safely, and efficiently for all members, supporters, and visiting guests. Here is everything you need to know about entry, bar access, and navigating Donnybrook on matchdays this season.
Getting Into the Ground: Entry Criteria
To ensure quick entry and avoid queues, we are introducing three clearly marked lanes at the gate. Please note the updated requirements for free member entry:
- Digital or New Member Cards Only: You must present the Smart Club Card App or the new physical Members Card at the entrance to claim free entry as a paid-up member.
- Outdated Cards: Any membership cards featuring the “Savills” logo are no longer valid. If you need a replacement card, please contact the club office ahead of matchday.
- Non-Members & Unverified Entry: If you do not have your Smart Club App or new card on hand, standard admission applies—simply tap your card or phone for €10.00, or pay cash at the gate.
Matchday Bars & Upstairs Access
With pre-match lunches completely sold out, space upstairs is at a premium. We’ve made a few adjustments to manage the crowds:
- Pre-Match Upstairs: Prior to kick-off, the upstairs area is strictly reserved for pre-match lunch diners.
- The 1891 Bar (Downstairs): The 1891 Bar downstairs is open to everyone before, during, and after the match. Access is straightforward via the traditional Old Wesley (Wezz) door or directly from the pitch-side entrance.
- Upstairs Bar Timings: The upstairs bar will close for those dining at 2:00 PM ahead of kick-off and will reopen in full immediately following the final whistle.
- Balcony Access: The balcony and upstairs area remain accessible to watch the match, but please note that the upstairs bar will remain closed for the duration of the game.
Pitch Access & Traffic Flow
To keep player and official pathways clear between the changing rooms and the pitch, we are asking those moving from the pre-match lunch to the pitch side to exit via the main front door and pass through the 1891 Bar.
