Another milestone was made this week for our Youth Girls as Sasha (Under 16’s) was selected for the Leinster Metro squad for next seasons Sarah Robinsons Cup after making it through three gruelling trial sessions over the past couple of months.
Sasha, who plays full back for the amalgamated team with St Mary’s and DLSP has come through strongly this year, winning both Old Wesley Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year with the De La Marys squad.
We can’t wait to see how Sasha gets on with the training programme and indeed when she gets on the pitch for next season’s Sarah Robinson matches representing Metro Rugby.
Huge congratulations, Sasha and good luck. This is our first youth girl who has reached this level of rugby, and as we continue to work through our development plan, we are certainly hoping she won’t be the last.
