We are delighted to welcome playwright Charles Richards as our guest speaker.
Charles is a writer and director.
Charles Richards’s interest in theatre grew through his involvement with the local amateur group, Leeson Park Players, where he performed the part of the Coal Block Seller in ‘Juno and the Paycock’. Richards’ play ‘Emergency Landing’ was produced by the Leeson Park Players.
Charles scripted and directed a version of The Dead – the closing short story in James Joyce’s Dubliners, and one of the most incredible pieces of literature based around the city. This version became the first to be performed in the house in Usher’s Island where the story was set.
