Old Wesley has learned with sadness of the death of Campbell Gardner.  Campbell was our Club Bar Steward for a number of years during the 1970s/80s and later ran the gate at a time when All Ireland League matches attracted very large crowds.

We extend our sympathies to his sons, David and Andrew, daughter, Ruth and the rest of his family.  He will be sadly missed by his many friends in Old Wesley. Details of his funeral are shown below.

GARDNER, Campbell (Artane, Dublin) March 8, 2018, (peacefully) in the loving care of staff of Beaumont Hospital, beloved husband of the late Anne (née Morrissey) and dearly beloved father of David, Andrew and Ruth. Very sadly missed by his family, daughters-in-law, Rachel and Lisa, Ruth’s fiancé Colm, grandchildren, brother Noel, sister Carole, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Maypark, Malahide Road on Monday from 5 o’c to 6.30 o’c. Removal on Tuesday to St. John the Baptist COI Church, Seafield Road, Clontarf arriving for service at 11 o’c followed by cremation at Dardistown Crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Dublin Central Mission, Lwr Abbey Street or St. Francis Hospice, Raheny. At Rest.
