Old Wesley Touch are proud to celebrate and share the accomplishments of our very own Aoife McCarthy, who has been a staple of Monday night training sessions for a long time.
As the saying goes, there is no game without referees and to have one of our own reach a massive milestone at the recent European Championships is something definitely worth celebrating. Aoife has reffed over 115 international touch rugby matches, making her the most capped female referee in Europe – incredible!
Always keen to have a chat and offer advice, Aoife has helped many of our touch players with learning the game, both as players and as referees with a number of our players receiving their own referee qualifications because of her tutelage. We are indeed very lucky to have someone like Aoife in our corner as we look to grow the sport and the club.
