Girls Rugby Friendly v Blackrock

Our girls mini rugby team took to the field on Sunday in their first friendly versus Dublin rivals Blackrock College RFC.

Following the game the head Mini and Youth, Andrew Bowers said: “Many of the girls were playing their first ever competitive friendly rugby match. I am proud to say that every one of them walked off the field not only a confident rugby player but exhausted exhilarated and eager for the next game. It is a privilege to work with such an enthusiastic group of girls. I have watched them develop a love of the game and as a dad and a former player this is great to see.”

Andrew Egan the club CCRO said, “The interest in girls’ rugby is growing and I am confident that our group are having great fun and are enjoying the great game of rugby at Old Wesley RFC. Mini rugby builds confidence and self-esteem in girls and it is a game for everyone.”
