Old Wesley has learned with great sadness of the death of Johnny Meldrum.  A long standing member, Johnny played senior rugby for Old Wesley in the late 1950s and early 1960s.  After an injury he went on to coach the senior team for a number of years.  A useful golfer he played in many of the club’s golf events over the years and was a very active social member.  In the days before email and social media he was the editor of the club newsletter for a number of years. He was also a Vice President of Old Wesley.

Old Wesley extends its deepest sympathies to Johnny’s wife Heather, his sons, grandchildren, together with the rest of his family at this sad time.  Johnny will be sadly missed by his many friends in Old Wesley.

MELDRUM, John A.F. (Rathfarnham), March 2, 2020, peacefully; beloved husband of Heather (née Lewis), much loved father of Kingsley, Morgan and Simon. Loved and remembered always by his family, daughters-in-law Jean, Brona and Beatriz, grandchildren Oriana, Bronwyn, Freya, Oscar, Isabel and Tom, the extended family and friends. Funeral Service on Friday (March 6) at 11 am in Adelaide Road Presbyterian Church, Dublin 2, afterwards to Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally, Co. Laois arriving at 2.30 pm approximately.
