Dr Louis Jacobson – deceased
Old Wesley notes with sadness the death of Dr. Louis Jacobson. Louis was the club’s oldest member at 95 years of age. He played senior rugby for Old Wesley in the 1940s and was club president in 1962-63. He was also an accomplished cricketer earning eleven caps for Ireland. He was a qualified medical doctor serving in the Second World War but later chose a career in the family jewellery business. He was a regular attender at the annual Past Presidents’ and Past Captains’ Lunch and was guest of honour last February celebrating 50 years since his club presidency.
Old Wesley extends its deepest sympathy to his family at this sad time.
