Old Wesley RFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Egan as Head of Social Media and Digital Content, a newly established official club role. The appointment reflects Old Wesley’s commitment to strengthening its digital presence, supporter engagement and sponsor value as the club continues its journey in Energia All-Ireland League Division 1A and works to grow participation from minis to adult rugby. Andrew is already a familiar face across Old Wesley.
As a coach, volunteer, Vice President and long-standing contributor, he has supported many areas of club life, including youth, U20s, Colts, senior rugby and community rugby development. Last season, working with Mark Braithwaite, Tom O’Brien, Nick Li and others, Andrew helped grow the club’s social media activity and visibility during a landmark season that included promotion to Division 1A.
Beyond rugby, Andrew brings strong experience in communications, coaching, education and business leadership through his work with Wesley College and ACE Sports Training. In the role, Andrew will work with volunteers, coaches, players and sponsors to develop coordinated content across the club, promoting teams, celebrating volunteers, supporting events, improving matchday coverage and expanding video content. The role will also support the club’s commercial ambitions by strengthening the digital value offered to sponsors and helping promote key events, including the Old Wesley Business Lunch.
Club President Wayne Sheridan said: “Andrew has already shown what can be achieved through energy, creativity and a deep understanding of Old Wesley. We are delighted to formally recognise his contribution and welcome him into this important official role.”
Andrew added: “Old Wesley has been a huge part of my life for many years as a player, coach and volunteer. I’m delighted to take on this role and help tell the stories of our players, members, volunteers and sponsors.”
The club wishes Andrew every success in his new role and looks forward to seeing Old Wesley’s digital presence continue to grow under his leadership.
#A Club for Life.
