Old Wesley pays tribute to IRFU President Philip Orr
Last Friday 15th September Old Wesley paid tribute to IRFU President and former Irish International player Philip Orr at a dinner in his honour at the clubhouse.
This was very much a club event and apart from Old Wesley club members the only others present were members of Philip’s family and Philip’s first and legendary coach Roly Meates. Old Wesley President Paul Short opened proceedings and welcoming all in attendance, paying his own personal tributes to Philip. After the meal there was a question and answer session hosted by ex International referee Alan Lewis before Philip shared some personal memories, rugby experiences and anecdotes.
The evening continued with more informal chat, laughter and memories.
