The J1s (2nds) finished off a successful weekend of rugby for Old Wesley. Trailing 5-10 just before half time they put in an exhibition like second half performance with a runaway 48-15 won over Seapoint. Old Wesley crossed for 8 tries by Rob Hallam, Colin Wallace, Dan van Zyl, Tommy Emo, Gavin Telford, and a hatrick by Conor Boyd. They remain 2nd in their league behind Terenure. It was also good to see a return to action of Club Captain Richie Morrow. Ironically Richie got injured against the same opposition in the first match of the season.
Earlier in the weekend the J2/J3s proved they have gotten over their early season slow start beating Blackrock 26-10. And the J4s, featuring a number of (let’s call them) experienced players recorded a 41-19 win over Newbridge. They are now clear leaders in their league 6 points ahead of their next opponents, Guinness.
Unfortunately the Under 21s had less luck losing 0-22 against NUIM Barnhall in the JPF Premiership.
