It is with great sadness that Old Wesley has learnt of the death of Stan Browning.
Stan joined Old Wesley after leaving school and played for a number of years on the Senior XV. He soon became involved in many other aspects of club life and was elected Club President in 1977-78. His involvement in Old Wesley continued and he was elected as Old Wesley’s Leinster Branch representative. He was elected President of Leinster Branch in 1996-97.
Always a proud Old Wesley man, he was delighted when his son Alan followed in his footsteps to become Old Wesley President in 2024-25.
A chartered accountant by profession, Stan worked most of his life for Gilbeys.
He was also a prominent member of Rathfarnham Golf Club where he served as Captain and as a Trustee.
Predeceased by his wife, Rosemary, we extend our sympathies to his son Alan, daughter Kara, and the rest of Stan’s family at this sad time
