Old Wesley competed at the Midland Midnight 7’s with a Squad comprising Junior Rugby Members and successfully reached the Cup quarter final. There they faced the difficult task of uncrowning the reigning champions, Belgium Barbarians, but sadly the task proved beyond them.
The outstanding highlight was the make-up of the Squad, with players representing every OW Junior team from the 2nd’s through to the 5th’s – a fantastic reflection of the depth and unity within the Club
Thanks to Mark Braithwaite who gathered the Squad together and to the players who represented Old Wesley. Hopes are to return to Tullamore next year and build on this year’s promising performance
Squad: Andrew McCrann, Alan Bencich, Ewan Mahood, Billy Haist, Andrew Vincent, Caolan Smith, Chris Gilmer, Mark Braithwaite, Martin Gin Monnay, Ethan O’Connor and Tristan Borrageiro. (The dog wasn’t eligible!)
