Under 10 Girls continue their Blitz Tour

On Sunday OWRFC Girls Under 10 squad continued their three week tour of Blitzes around Dublin by travelling to Seapoint RFC to play matches against Suttonians RFC and our hosts.  With only a couple of girls missing this week, the squad continued to show some excellent individual and team skills, while at the same time continued to develop their understanding of positions on the pitch and tackling.

Jude was able to thread a needle with her mazey runs, Isabella and Aibhe were crunching the tackles, Eva was directing the defensive wall, while Bruna was supporting in attack. Edi managed to find space in attack, while Sophie worked hard on her tackling and not letting go. Freya was good at denying space when defending.  All in all a great team performance with support for each other.

Our coaches Maya (Leinster Metro) and Cate (OWRFC U14) shepherded them to the end making sure they were in line and introducing tactics to the girls.  A huge thank you also to Seapoint for their hospitality as the hotdogs and hot drinks went down very well at the end.

The girls finish off their pre Christmas tour of Dublin with a 10.00am trip to Blackrock RFC next Sunday.  Training as usual at Ballycorus on Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and if you would like to get in contact with the Girls Manager in relation to anything to do with the development of girls at OWRFC contact Chris at girlsrugby@oldwesley.ie
