Under 14 Girls v Sharks

Our De La Wes Under 14 Girls squad travelled the short distance to play against a combined team of Old Belvo and Wanderers.  The squad was almost at full strength only missing Grace, Isabella and Mia and we welcomed back Cate for her first competitive match since November.

Throughout the match the girls were able to create and manage line breaks, numerous phases and set plays in order to keep the opposition on the toes, crossing the whitewash four time (unfortunately one being held up).  Georgie gained the most metres in the match and was chomping at the bit for a try, sadly it eluded her, this time and was inspirational at 10.  Cate and Rebecca were first to the break down with Rebecca having her best game of the season, as one of our coaches said, every time he saw a ruck, he saw Rebeccas black scrumcap not far behind.

The end result was 17-38 doenst reflect how the girls performed throughout the match.  More huge steps were taken by all the girls the squad who were playing in many different positions when asked to.  Best game of the season for the girls and with two matches left and a tour match there is still an opportunity to continue with the progress that they are making.

The girls next match brings them to Donnybrook on Saturday with a 12.45pm kick off on the main pitch against Clontarf in the Under 14 Girls Metro League.  All support is welcome.

Oh and then this happened!!!
