No joy for Wesley in Senior Cup

Leinster Senior Cup – Old Wesley 8 Clontarf 31

After a 196 day break Old Wesley eventually resumed rugby with a Leinster Senior Cup match against Clontarf at Ballycorus.  But there was no joy for the home side as the AIL Division 1 Northsiders proved to be the better side on the day.  After an early Josh Miller penalty Wesley had to settle for a late consolation try by Paddy McKenzie.  Clontarf crossed for 5 tries and advance to the next round of the competition.

Whilst Wesley competed well the gap between AIL divisions 1a and 1b was evident on the day.

Only players and a limited number of team management were allowed to attend  but a number of others watched the match which was streamed live on facebook.
